There are many charging blocks out there, I like this one because it's small, cheap, cute, has prongs that fold into it, and is powerful enough to charge my MacBook Air in a pinch. Is the screen necessary? No, not at all. Is it fun to have little blob tell me about my charging rate? Yes, absolutely.
