I've played with a lot of cameras, both film and digital. This one strikes the best balance of great image quality, usable film simulations, manageable size, and broad lens ecosystem. And it looks really cool, too.
The Fujifilm X-100 series of cameras is legendary, and while I've used a few different versions of that line, I like this one a little more because of the fact that it's cheaper, readily available, and has interchangeable lenses.
I recommend the 35mm f/1.4 lens for portraiture and the 23mm f/2.8 pancake lens for everything else. Both incredibly sharp and fast-focusing.
