I'm an amateur runner but a professional running gear nerd – these are my favorite tights for all weather conditions except sub-40F/5C temps. These are comfortable and have a bazillion pockets for gels, but most importantly, a big 'ol hip pocket for your phone. The location is key: High on the hip and tightly held means that it doesn't bounce around, which means I never have to think about it. And the opening is still big enough that I can access my phone mid-run to change tunes or respond to a text if I need to.
Another underrated benefit: The drawstring is external, so it doesn't chaff your lower abs like many other shorts/tights do.
They're available in other materials and cuts (including a quarter tight for hot days) but I just love these – a rare piece of kit I bought more than one of.
